Sino-EU Sat Nav fell into deadlock


The European Commission recently said that China and the EU into a "satellite navigation impasse," the recommendations should be political support for Central European navigation satellites to help solve the problem of overlapping bands. Reported that in January 18 the European Galileo satellite navigation system was an upgrade, here the Commission said Europe has been trying to persuade China to the Galileo "Public General Service" (PRS) of the scheduled band, but did not achieve any results. Report said that Galileo PRS service is equivalent to the U.S. military code GPS is for national defense and security services.
Reported that China’s Compass navigation system frequency band coincides with the Galileo PRS, but China has no legal liability or responsibility for the PRS to the band, because the band overlap does not prevent their users of the system for service. But the overlap will lead to China or Europe can not achieve military signals interfere with each other, unless their first service interruption, this issue is of concern in Europe.
According to reports, the European Commission also said in the report, the Galileo system is working with China and Russia’s "constellation" to start competition, completion facing the global GPS vacancies, but Europe is now facing the risk of losing the game, Because Galileo has repeatedly been delayed, all of its services may be provided by 2020 not all. By contrast, Russia’s global navigation satellite systems and the Chinese Compass satellite navigation and positioning series accounted for the first move.
